QUESTION FOR ARTIST FRIENDS WHO MAKE PRINTS

Posted by EthanDoesaThing - April 30th, 2025

What is the best print size for 100 dpi images that are also scaled at 1600x1900 or vice versa? I've been wanting to make prints of my stuff for a while now but i'm having trouble narrowing down what the best option would be regarding print size AND the type of printer i should get. I don't want to keep getting prints at the UPS store as the print quality is hit or miss, but i'm NOT printer-savvy and i don't really understand how any of this works so i'm worried i'd end up blowing my cash on the wrong printer.

Please, PLEASE answer this if you know what fits the dimensions i described, that's usually the resolution i draw at. I've been dying to start properly selling prints of my work for the longest time now.

I do my prints at 300 dpi, at a minimum. There's probably a size where 100 dpi wouldn't look too pixelated, but it might be too small to be worth selling. You've got great work, i wish you luck.

I do prints at 300 -350 DPI and print from a Canon Pixma Pro-100 and a Canon Pixma TS3772 for stickers and smaller sized prints.

If your stuff is too small / low resolution for printing, you can always use Waifu2X to bump it up a bit too.
